Aleksandr Petrov

Alexander Petrov is a Russian animator best known for his adaptation of The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. The film employed a difficult paint-on-glass animation technique and more than 29,000 frames were created to make it possible. It received the Academy Award for Animated Short Film.
